Dr. Esther Chin

MD, MGSC, FRCSC

Dr. Chin is a Canadian Obstetrician/Gynecologist (Ob/Gyn), Assistant Professor and Global Health Lead in the Department of Ob/Gyn at McMaster University, and Adjunct Professor in the Branch for Global Surgical Care at the University of British Columbia. She has worked in various countries and her areas of research include surgical care systems and maternal morbidity/mortality.

Noah Stewart

BMLSc.

Noah holds a BMLSc from the University of British Columbia and is currently pursuing graduate studies at UBC’s School of Biomedical Engineering. His areas of research include advanced medical materials (implantables), micro-nanofabrication technologies, and scalable manufacturing of therapeutic systems.

Yiting Wu

BASc. MASc.

Yiting is a mechanical engineer with experience in mechanical design, soft elastomer fabrication, machining, and rapid prototyping. With her current masters in biomedical engineering, she hopes to work towards bridging the gap between the fields of medicine and engineering. Her areas of interest are biomechanics, medical device design, and surgical robotics.

Yong Hui Chan

BEng., MEng.

Yong Hui graduated from her Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from University of British Columbia. Her areas of research and interest are: robotics, engineering design and virtual reality.

Tara Kemper

BSc.

Tara completed a BSc in Medical Physics at the University of Western Ontario, and is currently a student at the University of British Columbia working toward a MASc in Biomedical Engineering. Her areas of research include: Image-Guided Surgery, Augmented and Virtual Reality-based Surgical Guidance, Surgical Robotics, Medical Imaging, Ultrasound, MRI, Elastography, and AI/Machine Learning.

Vincent Levandier

BEng., MEng.

Vincent recently completed an MEng in biomedical engineering from the University of British Columbia and obtained a BEng in bioengineering from McGill University in 2023. His areas of research include medical imaging, biomechanics, genomics, and medical device development.
